Like-minded individuals and groups working together on community food security
About Urban Pantry Barrie
Urban Pantry is a program of the Canadian Mental Health Association, with funding from the Ontario Trillium Foundation.
Urban Pantry is made up of three main components: community gardens, community cooking classes, and the Barrie Good Food Box.
We are a collaboration of like-minded individuals and groups working together on community food security (urban agriculture, food skills & food access). We source funding and coordinate the building of community gardens, deliver community cooking classes, and manage a community buying program for fresh produce,
Our mission is to strengthen the community of Barrie by fostering a connection between its citizens and their environment, through supporting the increase and diversification of a sustainable local food system.
