Barnardo's Surrey Positive Parenting Service is looking for Group Activity Helper volunteers.

Barnardo’s is committed to providing ‘Better Outcomes for More Children’. Our children’s services volunteers help the charity to deliver essential services in local communities, providing support to over 300,000 children, young people and their families. This role provides a great opportunity to join our fantastic children’s services and help make a real difference.

Group Activity Helper volunteers work alongside staff to provide adult groups, which focus on a common issue/need, such as parents with a child who has ADHD or a disability. Group Helpers support adults who may care for children under 5 years or those 16-18 years of age. These roles support adults and have no contact with children. Elementary knowledge of Zoom video conferencing software would be a plus as all the group sessions are delivered in a virtual format.

We are looking for volunteers with a fun and approachable attitude, and an ability to engage adults in worthwhile and enjoyable activities, which increase their confidence and coping mechanisms.
